In the large city of Salem, in Mulluvadigate, 45 young people aged 13 to 18 are being cared for. This location is run by just three Salesians. The contribution of Frans Schlooz to establishing and expanding the “Anbu Illams” is clearly evident.
The accommodations were made available for Self Help Group (SHG) projects and microfinance projects. In this city, too, there were clear, concrete needs for support, including a new roof. Here, too, we express our sincere appreciation for everything the Salesians accomplish.
Frans Schlooz’s reach has been enormous, as has his actions. These projects, too, breathe Frans Schlooz’s lifeblood. They are vibrant and alive. How systematically this man from Venlo thought about development aid even back then!
Just outside Salem lies Adhivaram, an Anbu Illam shelter for children up to 13 years old. Here, the needs regarding personal hygiene are high.
