Melanmarainadu This institution provides meals for these poor children, who live on the margins of society. The parents, and often the children themselves, primarily work in the perilous fireworks factories. Children from these poor families are cared for here. Their fathers and mothers are often illiterate and uneducated. They live there at great risk.
Children from the Sri Lankan refugee camps are also cared for and educated here. The Salesians have now also begun caring for street children. These children live in a boarding school. The school has approximately 400 children.
