Comprehensive Care Centre (Nilavarapatti)

Computer lab. This is a beautifully situated shelter for HIV-infected patients.

The children here were mostly infected by their mothers at birth. There are 40 boys in total, aged between 6 and 18. It’s beautifully situated against a mountain in a very peaceful setting. A farm is currently under construction, which will soon make them largely self-sufficient. The construction was made possible by the German organization “Jugend für die Dritte Welt” (Youth for the Third World) in collaboration with the Frans Schlooz Foundation.

The children seem active and happy. Here too, a trained HIV nurse checks the children monthly. And here too, the Bill Gates HIV/AIDS clinicians are doing excellent work.

With the purchase and furnishing of a computer lab, these disadvantaged children can also be well-prepared for the modern education that awaits them.
